Training Officer (TO/0717)

This position will co-ordinate and manage the long-term improvement of employee skills to enable them to fulfil their potential within the company.  Working in a proactive manner, the successful candidate will assess the skills and knowledge within the company and determine training required to grow and retain industry specific skills. 

Key responsibilities will include : -

  • to identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers 
  • to design and expand training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual
  • to consider the costs of planned programmes with the ability to assess and evaluate the return on investment 
  • to develop an effective training strategy, induction programmes and individual learning plans
  • monitor and review the progress of trainees and apprenticeships 
  • amend and revise programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment

Criteria

  • Applicants must have a minimum 3 years previous experience in a Training/ Learning & Development role.  
  • Applicants experience must be from the construction industry, with a sound knowledge of work-based NVQ’s and apprenticeships for skilled and semi-skilled staff.    
  • Candidates should have experience working in a large organisation and ideally have co-ordinated multi-site training previously. 
  • Strong presentation skills, IT skills and communication skills are essential. 



Personal Assistant (Ref PA/0717)

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full secretarial and administrative support to the managing director and board of directors within the company including the organisation and co-ordination of travel itineraries, minute taking during meetings, diary planning and organisation of meetings in an efficient and professional manner,  as well as general office management duties.

  • Applicants must have a minimum of five years PA experience operating at senior executive level.  
  • This position requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with effective communication and planning skills in a busy office environment.

Maintenance Electrician (Ref MEL/0617)

The successful candidate will be responsible for all industrial electrical maintenance throughout the company’s various production facilities and office buildings.  Key tasks of this role are; installation, repair and preventative electrical maintenance on existing production and facilities equipment;   managing unplanned repairs and breakdowns whilst avoiding downtime and ensuring minimal disruption; installation and wiring of electric motors and machinery; initiating and modifying electrical designs; conducting annual Portable Appliance Testing (PAT testing) and Periodic Testing and Inspection; diagnoses, repairing and testing of malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, cables.  

Criteria

  • Must be a time served and multi skilled Maintenance Electrician to 17th Edition 
  • A minimum of 2 years electrical maintenance experience preferably within a production facility in the construction industry. 
  • Must hold the following qualifications; 
  • Accreditation on the requirements of BS 7671 17th Edition
  • BS 2391 Inspection and Testing
  • City & Guilds 2377 PAT testing
  • IEE Wiring Regulations Certificate
  • Flexible towards working hours and available for call outs.



Site Installers/ Fixers   Ref : SIF/0617

Working as part of a team, we are seeking to appoint a number of Precast Site Installers/Fixers for the safe installation of specialist precast products, concrete flooring and stairs throughout Northern Ireland.  The role will involve working on both residential and commercial builds, using airbags and netting fall arrest systems, with both hired in cranes and off-loader lorries.

Criteria

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months precast installation experience on construction sites and hold a valid CSCS/CSR Card.  
  • A driving license, NVQ Level 2 installer card, slinger/banksman, abrasive wheels, MEWP, first aid, SSSTS certs would all be advantageous but not essential. 
  • The ability to work on site as a team is important and applicants must be flexible to travel throughout GB and Northern Ireland. 



Structural Engineers (Ref: SE/0617)

This senior technical role will have responsibility for the design and physical integrity of our large structural projects, providing technical expertise, solutions and guidance to our sales, design, manufacturing and site teams across the business. The successful candidates will work closely with our client and other engineering professionals on safe design and solution development.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be educated to degree level in Civil/Structural Engineering and have a minimum of 2 years structural engineering experience within the construction industry.  
  • A sound knowledge of AutoCAD is essential 
  • A working knowledge of Revit would be a distinct advantage. 
  • Applicants must be customer focused with effective communication skills.  



Graduate Structural Engineers (Ref: GE/0617)

Location: Toome

Working as a member of the technical department, the role will involve design of structural and architectural precast concrete elements and products from inception to completion.  The successful candidate will be mentored by an experienced engineer and will be involved in design development, liaison with production facilities & site teams and detailed design to ensure compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes.   

Criteria

  • Possess or working towards completion of a degree in June/July 2017 in Civil/Structural Engineering. 
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD software
  • Some knowledge of using Revit and BIM would be advantageous but not essential 
  • Previous experience in the construction industry would be a distinct advantage 



Concrete Finishers Ref CF/0517

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Pouring and finishing precast concrete – this role will require evening shift operation, hours of work are 2pm – 11pm
OR
  • Hard finishing and etching of precast concrete units – this role will require day shift operation
  • Ideally the successful candidates will have 6 months’ relevant experience although this is not essential. 




Shuttering Joiners (Ref JR/0117)

As a member of the joinery team within a busy production facility, the successful candidates will be involved in the mould and shuttering process for the production of stairs and wall panels.

Criteria

  • Must be a skilled joiner with a minimum of two years joinery experience
  • Shuttering experience would be an advantage 
  • Must have the ability to understand drawings and to work as part of a team 
  • Flexible to work overtime such as evenings and/or weekends to meet production requirements.




Precast Erector Apprentice – N. Ireland, England and Scotland Ref: PEA/0315

Creagh Concreter Products Ltd are looking to build for the future and therefore a number of vacancies have now arisen for Precast Erector Apprentice within a busy and demanding structures division.  This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to develop within the manufacturing and construction industry.   

The role of Precast Erector Apprentice, who will report directly to the Structures Manager, will be significant in projects as diverse as high rise buildings and car parks with the majority of projects based in England and Scotland therefore will involve travelling.  The apprenticeship of 2 years will allow you to learn all of the skills necessary to become a competent Precast Erector, how to use specialist equipment and how to plan lifting operations.  Creagh Concrete Products Ltd will provide training in all aspects of precast design, manufacture and erection and training required to achieve NVQ Structural Precast Installer.

  • Previous site experience would be an advantage.
