Shuttering Joiners

Location: Toomebridge

This role involves the set up of wooden mouldage to allow for the pouring of various concrete products such as concrete stairs and wall panels. Applicants must be a skilled joiner with a minimum of two years joinery experience preferably with previous shuttering experience . The ability to understand technical CAD drawings is essential. Applicants should have a flexible approach to your work and have the ability to meet deadlines. Whilst experience in precast moulding is a desirable attribute for our ideal candidate, it is not essential.



Concrete Finishing Supervisor (To operate Twilight Shift 2pm to 11pm)

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Finishing Supervisor to lead a team of wet concrete finishers. The role will involve working across 3 factories on a variety of architectural finishes and precast projects.

The successful person must have:-

  • At least 2 years experience working as a Supervisor within the concrete industry
  • Knowledge of shuttering, concrete casting and finishing processes
  • Experience in managing health and safety
  • Experience in working with architectural and specialist concrete products
  • Ability to liaise with other supply departments
  • Flexibility, good organisation skills and ability to work to tight deadlines

This role involves the accurate positioning and securing of steel bars / steel mesh to reinforce concrete products by following working instructions from CAD drawings. Applicants must be able to read and interpret CAD technical drawings then adapt and assemble the steel bars/mesh by wiring or clipping into predetermined locations within the concrete. Applicants must be a skilled steel fixer with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Previous welding experience would be a distinct advantage.



Site Managers

We are seeking to appoint capable individuals who have the ability to manage the day to operations of multiple concrete flooring contracts. The core responsibilities of the role involve carrying out regular site visits for the submission of accurate risk assessments and method statements prior to delivery of flooring and precast to the residential market. Agreeing site programmes, communicating daily with design/production/dispatch to ensure safe, successful delivery and profitable return on each contract. Key to this role is the ability to successfully manage each contract in terms of achieving both the installation program and the budget as well as building strong partnerships with our client base.

The Person:-

  • A minimum of 2 years foreman/site management experience preferably within the precast flooring industry, although consideration will be given to applicants from other sectors of the construction industry
  • Experience of leading and motivating installation teams to consistently meet daily targets while adhering to strict H&S standards.
  • Ability to proactively manage and report on daily site costs and overall project performance
  • Strong commercial awareness with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Computer literate and have the ability to produce accurate risk assessments and method statements
  • Valid appointed person and crane supervisor qualifications are essential and SMSTS/SSSTS qualification would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Hollowcore flooring and precast stair installation would be a distinct advantage


Quantity Surveyor

As a member of a busy contracts team, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and will be responsible for finalising contract terms and conditions, the accurate and timely preparation of applications for payment, interim valuations, agreeing variations on contracts, closing final accounts with clients and sub-contractors, dispute resolution and monthly commercial reports. Experience of commercially managing a high volume of subcontracts is key.

The Person:-

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant QS experience within the construction industry

Contracts Managers

The Contracts Manager is a senior appointment within the company and will lead a large team of site managers/supervisors and installation teams to delivery the overall annual profits of our concrete flooring and precast projects. Key responsibilities will include the ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of the buildability of concrete flooring and precast projects on site, organisation of craneage & plant, management of health & safety standards across all sites, management of project profit and programmes, management of client expectations and the leadership of all site managers within the company to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.

The Person:-

  • Knowledge of hollowcore flooring and precast concrete installation is essential
  • A minimum of 3 years senior Contracts Management experience within the construction industry is essential with a proven track record of managing multi projects and delivering these to programme and within budget.
  • Previous experience of successfully leading site teams to ensure health & safety standards, quality standards and deadlines are achieved
  • The ability to provide weekly plans to monitor and measure progress throughout the lifecycle of multiple projects.
  • Must be ambitious, profit focused, output driven and pro-active to support the team.
  • Dealing with contractors and customers, strong communication and negotiation skills are essential with the ability to maintain positive relationships and take appropriate professional action when dealing with potential difficulties.

Concrete Technician

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Quality team responsible for maintaining all the required concrete quality standards. Key responsibilities will include ensuring the laboratory environmental conditions are maintained, managing calibration requirements, conducting concrete testing alongside ensuring associated records are maintained. Other duties include responsibility for random samples within the Scotland factories and updating of associated results on a database.

The Person:-

  • Must have a minimum of 6 months previous experience in a quality/lab role within a concrete manufacturing environment

Project Manager

The Project Manager will give leadership and direction to a number of regional installation teams, who are responsible for the installation of concrete flooring and stairs. Key responsibilities of the role will be the ability to develop a program of works and ability to deliver this, ensure site programmes and budgets are successfully achieved on each project, daily liaison with the client and appropriately addressing any site issues, attend client meetings as required, provide support and instruction to the site installation teams, resource management with consideration of skill level and project complexity.

The Person:-

  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience within the construction industry
  • Previous experience of managing multiple on-site projects and providing adequate visibility on the performance of each project against budget and program
  • Must have a sound knowledge of the buildability of specialist precast structures and associated safety standard requirements
  • Be commercially astute and flexible to travel if required

This senior technical role will have responsibility for the design and physical integrity of our large structural projects, providing technical expertise, solutions and guidance to our sales, design, manufacturing and site teams across the business. The successful candidates will work closely with our client and other engineering professionals on safe design and solution development.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be educated to degree level in Civil/Structural Engineering and have a minimum of 2 years structural engineering experience within the construction industry.  
  • A sound knowledge of AutoCAD is essential 
  • A working knowledge of Revit would be a distinct advantage.

Graduate Structural Engineers (Ref: GE/0617)

Location: Toome

Working as a member of the technical department, the role will involve design of structural and architectural precast concrete elements and products from inception to completion.  The successful candidate will be mentored by an experienced engineer and will be involved in design development, liaison with production facilities & site teams and detailed design to ensure compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes.   

Criteria

  • Possess or working towards completion of a degree in June/July 2018 in Civil/Structural Engineering. 
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD software
  • Some knowledge of using Revit and BIM would be advantageous but not essential 
  • Previous experience in the construction industry would be a distinct advantage
