Twelve students complete CAD training course and join the company in full time employment.

01-Dec-2016

Twelve students from Belfast Metropolitan College recently completed a successful CAD Academy Training Course at Creagh Concrete Products Head Office in Toomebridge and have now joined the company in full time employment.

The Academy consisted of an eight week intensive training course at Creagh’s Head Office, delivered by Belfast Metropolitan College, followed by a four week placement within the company’s design offices.

Successful Academy Graduates received an OCNNI Level 4 certificate in 2D Computer Aided Design and have now joined the company in full time employment within the Technical & Design Department. This course has been developed specifically for the design of Creagh’s pre-stressed concrete flooring and stairs.

On 18th November the successful 12 students joined representatives from Creagh Concrete, Belfast Metropolitan College and Dept for Economy for a presentation and prize-giving of certificates followed by dinner in The Elk Restaurant.

Speaking on the day, Creagh Concrete Managing Director Seamus McKeague welcomed the students to the company:

“We are delighted to welcome you all to Creagh Concrete. We can assure you that you are a vital part of this team and we want to thank you for your efforts on completing this course. Creagh also wish to thank Belfast Metropolitan College for their efforts in directing and teaching the course content as well as the Dept. for the Economy for their support in running the course also”.

The Creagh Concrete CAD Academy is the first training course of this kind in Northern Ireland and will be a very positive step forward to reducing the current technical skills gap in our industry.
