RE4 project modifies construction process

Creagh manufacture pre-cast Wall Panels, Columns and Beams using construction and demolition waste.

Creagh are one of 13 partners involved in the European REuse and REcycling (RE4) project.

The RE4 project aims to radically modify the construction process and off-site production by promoting new technological solutions for the design and development of structural and non-structural pre-fabricated elements with:

  • A high degree of recycled materials from construction and demolition waste (CDW)
  • Reused structures from the partial or total demolition of buildings

The main purpose of the project is to develop a prefabricated energy-efficient building concept that can be easily assembled and disassembled for future reuse, containing up to 65% of recycled materials from CDW.

Creagh manufactured all pre-cast Wall Panels, Columns and Beams for the entire project using CDW. These concrete elements will be used for extensive testing and two demo buildings that will be built in both N. Ireland and Spain.
