Sustainable Construction

Introducing our new concrete testing and aggregates lab constructed using up to 80% recycled materials from construction demolition waste.

Creagh were one of 13 partners involved in the European REuse and REcycling (RE4) project.

The RE4 project aims to radically modify the construction process and off-site production by promoting new technological solutions for the design and development of structural and non-structural pre-fabricated elements with:

  • A high degree of recycled materials from construction and demolition waste (CDW)
  • Reused structures from the partial or total demolition of buildings

The main purpose of the project was to develop a prefabricated energy-efficient building concept that can be easily assembled and disassembled for future reuse, containing up to 80% of recycled materials from CDW.

Creagh's demo building included a concrete testing and aggregates laboratory at their Head Office facilities in Toomebridge. Creagh manufactured and constructed all pre-cast wall panels, columns and beams for the entire project using up yo 80% recycled materials from construction demolition waste.
