Spantherm offsite insulated precast concrete flooring was installed on one of Northern Ireland’s most desirable residential addresses. Nursey Mews is an exclusive new 21 home development in Portstewart constructed by O’Kane Group.
O’Kane Group have been working with Creagh for over 18 years and chose Spantherm flooring to speed up their build times and reduce labour on this new development.
John Hasson, Site Foreman stated “I like Spantherm because it’s speedy and efficient. Creagh come and they fit the flooring, there’s no waste and it saves us a lot of labour of our own.”
Spantherm is an insulated precast concrete flooring system designed specifically for residential and commercial ground floors. The composite slab combines structural concrete and high-performance expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation to provide a superior, structural thermal floor. This structural flooring system is mechanically placed, using lorry mounted cranes to improve health and safety onsite, reducing labour, waste, risks and cost.
Precast flooring is being adopted by a growing number of house builders due to the increasing popularity of offsite construction and the demand for shorter build times. Spantherm is installed in just minutes, not days. By producing high performance insulated concrete units offsite we have redefined the speed of installing a fully insulated floor.
John states “I would definitely use Spantherm again. Without a doubt it's the way forward, this modern method of construction.”
